The Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea, in accordance with its desire to support creation and research in contemporary art and thought, announces a call for entries for a series of grants. The objective of this initiative, which is promoted by the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, is to facilitate the production of thirteen selected projects in the following categories: Art Project Production, Curatorship, Research and Film Scripts. Authors of any nationality, regardless of age, can present their projects individually or collectively.
ART PROJECT PRODUCTION
Eight grants will be awarded to develop art projects to be produced during the forthcoming 12 months. Each grant shall not exceed 10,000 EUR, including a maximum amount of 7,000 EUR for production of the project and 3,000 EUR for fee and copyrights. The work produced will be exhibited at Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea within its 2010 programme.
CURATORSHIP
One grant will be awarded to produce a curated exhibition project involving the participation of at least four contemporary artists. The selected project shall be exhibited at Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea within its 2010 programme. The proposal must be currently in production or produced during the forthcoming 12 months. The exhibition project award shall not exceed 15,000 EUR, and 6,000 EUR shall be allocated for the curatorial fee and copyright. The budget submitted must include the costs of production, installation, insurance and transportation as well as travel and accommodation expenses for selected artists and the curator.
Infrastructure, technical equipment and human resources will be provided by Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea.
RESEARCH
Three grants will be awarded to develop research projects related to Contemporary Art and Thought. Within this section, at least one of the grants shall be devoted to a project related to the development of a Historiography of Feminist Art in Spain. The award for the research project shall not exceed 9,000 EUR. This amount includes the researcher's fee, as well as project development expenses. The Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea will be able to suggest a publication of the research work. FILM SCRIPT
One grant will be awarded to produce development of a film script project. The award for development of the film script project shall not exceed 9,000 EUR. This amount is to include the researcher's fee as well as project development expenses.

Essence - Video Art & Architecture event at the Galerie Art Fort Reveur, Ixelles (Bruxelles).
International ArtExpo is a not for profit organization that provides a significant forum for cultural dialogue between all artists from different cultures and countries. We depend on the support of you. ArtExpo is grateful to all of the institutions, corporations, and individuals who support our efforts. We work with a number of national and international galleries as well as publishers, museums, curators and writers from all over the world. We help artists through solo and group exhibitions, gallery representation, magazine reviews and advertisements, press releases, internet promotion, as well as various curatorial projects.
The number of works with you can participate is unlimited. All works must be on DVD (PAL or NTSC), no matter what the original source medium. The duration may be any, with a preference given to a max lenght of 15 minutes. Artist and Critical Studies Residencies

The Core Program awards artist and critical studies residencies to highly motivated, emerging visual artists and critical writers who have completed their academic training but have not yet fully developed a professional career.
Each resident is provided with a stipend, health insurance, and private studio/office space. The residency term is nine months, from September to May, and is renewable for a second term.
The Core Program attracts a diverse array of applicants from across the US and abroad. Residents are chosen by a jury of professional artists, art historians and critics based on quality of work.
1. Visual Artists Residency Application
Visual artists must submit an online application. There is a $10 application fee, which is paid online by credit card. Please note that the online system will NOT accept applications after midnight, April 1st.
All applications will include the following:
1. 10 images total (this includes details) of work completed during the last two years. The images will need to be labeled with title, size, media, and date. We will be accepting video and sound work. Images must be under 2MB file size each, saved as jpg, png, or gif. Optimal size for good image quality and fast upload is 1280 x 1280 pixels @ 72 dpi. Video must be under 20MB per sample, saved as flv, mov, or wmv.
2. Résumé/CV
3. Statement of intent (800 words max.) This is an important part of your application. There is no specific format for the statement.
4. Three letters of recommendation, which will be mailed directly to the Core Program. These letters must be received by April 1st.

As part of its 2009-10 programming, Québec City artist-run centre l’Œil de Poisson is offering to all artists, the chance to present his or her work in its main gallery following an in-house production residency.
The residency will take place over a three-months period in the centre’s workshops.
CONTEXT :
The residency is designed for artists who require the use of our wood and/or metal shops for the entire three-months period in order to realize an installation or sculptural or multidisciplinary work that incorporates materials and techniques that can only be handled in the shops.
The artist chosen for the residency will be provided with accommodations and a per diem for the entire period : from October 26th 2009 to January 18th, 2010.
The exhibition that follows the three-months residency will be part of l’Œil de Poisson’s programming for its main gallery. The exhibition will take place from January 16th to February 15th, 2010.
While developing the project, the artist will have access to all the equipment contained in the wood and metal shops : a vast common space where many artists from the Québec City region work under the guidance of professional technicians.
THE PORTFOLIO MUST CONTAIN :
• A resume (maximum of 2 pages).
• A letter of intention (maximum of 1 page).
• Visual documentation on digital support (CD or DVD). Please limit the number of projects presented to a maximum of 15 images, numbered from 01 to 015, and ensure that the images appear from the outset. Please equally ensure that the documents are light (images : maximum 1024 X 768 pixels, JPEG at 72dpi ; video : maximum of 10 minutes). Please do not use stickers on CD and DVD.
• 5 prints ( bw, color, letters or A4).
• An artist statement (500 words maximum).
• A text describing your residency-exhibition project (1250 words maximum).
• A press or media portfolio (maximum 5 pages).

Residency position requirements: The scope of the residency must relate to researching the Athens contemporary art scene.
The resident will be required to follow a demanding programme, which will include studio visits, conversations with artists, curators, critics and academics, collectors, museum directors, and other art professionals, as well as visits to exhibitions and portfolio examinations. He/she will also be expected to fully engage with the local scene, acquiring an expertise in local artists that may be used in future projects. He/she will also be required to give lectures about former and current projects, participate in seminars with various partners of the Athens Biennale.
The term of the residency coincides with final preparations and the opening the 2nd Athens Biennale 2009 HEAVEN, which will offer the resident a unique ‘insiders look’, as well as the opportunity to experience the city at a most vivid period for contemporary art.
This application is open to all curators, whether permanently employed at an institution or independent.
Applications must be made for the specific residency position. The successful applicant will be selected by the Athens Biennale. (Please see Application Guidelines below.)
The successful applicant will be offered travel to and from their host city and accommodation, as well as a stipend of 1.000 euros per month. Additional funds for equipment and/or transport of work may be available, depending on the specifics of the residency.
Upon completion of the residency, the resident will be required to produce a text, outlining the basic parameters of his/her research, which will be used for publication by the European Biennial Network.
Application Guidelines:
Applications must be made by cv and a letter of interest (max. 500 words). There is no special application form.
In the letter of interest, the applicant must clearly outline how he/she intends to respond to the requirements of the position.
Applicants may be requested to provide further clarifications and/or additional material, during the selection process. This will not constitute any indication as to the success of the application.
Generic applications, or ones not clearly relating to the requirements of the position, will not be accepted.
Applications must be in English.
Although the Athens Biennale will be selecting the successful applicant, applications must not be sent directly to the Athens Biennale. Any such applications will not be accepted. Eligibility Open to all artists
Original work of intaglio prints and print-based work. Work dimension to be within 1 meter in height by 1 meter in width, 30 centimeter in depth (1m x 1m x 30cm).
Prize winners are encouraged to travel to Tokyo for prize giving ceremony and reception by artists’ own expense.
Conditions Work must be original by the submitting artist, previously unreleased and must have been produced after July 1, 2007.
Work does not have to be produced especially for this competition. Matted or Framed work will not be accepted.

Who & How
It is open to students of all grades and types of schools and to professional artists from all over the world. They are required to submit one or more works developing the themes of PEACE, TOLLERANCE, fight against any form of racism and of defense of human rights.
Each competitor may take part in two ways:
1 FAx or E-MAIL JPG format max 1,5 Mb one or more pictures or works of visual art;
2 send SHORT FILMS AND CARTOONS of maximum 5 minute lenght that could also be broadcast in compressed format to the e-mail address below. The videos can be realized in the most common formats (AVI, MPEG, REAL VIDEO, QuICkTIME, VIDEO FOR WINDOWS ecc.) but they must not exceed 8 Mb of space.
Exhibition
On each work it is necessary to indicate full name, name of school and grade/ class (if students), telephone and fax number and/or E-mail address, city, country.
The works will be exhibited as they are received in an “in progress” exhibition which has opened on Sunday 30th NOVEMBER and will last untill MARCH 31st, 2009, at the Istituto Superiore di Spilimbergo. Students will also have to specify school address and class attended. Competitors implicitly authorize the school to reproduce and use their works in the catalogue and with different media for no-profit activities. The organization cannot be held responsible in case of theft, damage or loss of the works. Works will not be returned or retransmitted to their authors. A catalogue will be printed reproducing a wide selection of the works received and will later be sent to all competitors free of charge.
Prizes
The following six prizes, will be awarded according to categories:
> best work - Nursery and Primary Schools: E 300;
> best work - Low Secondary Schools: E 300;
> best work - Secondary High Schools: E 300;
> best work - Video or cartoon: E 300;
> best work - Artists: E 300;
> special best work awarded to a satirical or humorous drawing inviting consideration upon human and civil themes dealing with the initiative: E 500;
> special prize, supported by the President of the Italian Republic consisting in a medal, awarded to the school named for the overall quality of the works sent and the relevant importance of the didactic project submitted.

• The Award is given according to the Jury’s decision. The Jury shall determine the winner.
• The winning artwork shall become part of the BEEP Collection.
• The winner shall be announced on 13 February 2009.
• Amount of the Award: a maximum of 15,000 euros, including taxes, is earmarked for the Award. Works may not be registered to compete for the Award if they have a price tag higher than this amount of 15,000 euros, since it is preferable to avoid cutting the price of works.
• In the event that part of the budget earmarked for the acquisition is left over, the Jury may decide to save this amount to be added to the budget of future editions, or award it to a second artwork, which shall be considered the runner-up.
2. Participation Requirements
• Any artwork may participate that involves the significant use of new technologies, or electronic artworks, shown at ARCOmadrid_2009 and presented by a participating gallery.
• Works may be registered on the Award’s website, or on 11 February at the art fair.
• Registrations sent by e-mail, regular mail, or any other method shall not be accepted.
• The registration must be presented in Spanish or in English. Any registration that fails to meet this requirement shall not be accepted. It is recommended to present bilingual Spanish/English versions, with the participant’s approval.
• Participating artworks must be registered and exhibited with their sales price, taxes included.
• The decision to accept an artwork for competition shall be made by the Jury, and may not be appealed.
• Accepting the Award involves ceding ownership of the artwork to the BEEP Collection.

Triangle Arts is dedicated to advancing the work of emerging and underrepresented visual artists through its short-term workshops and long-term residency programs. The Triangle Artist's Residency Program provides free studio space to eligible artists for a six month period (Oct-Mar, April-Sept). Each artist's stay culminates in an Open Studio exhibition to which the general public is invited. Resident artists will also receive a materials stipend of up to $2500, and studio visits from critics, writers and curators. Artists are responsible for all other expenses, including housing, travel, and meals.
The program begins in October and ends in September of the following year. Studios are located at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn, NY. Artists have full access to their studios 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If accepted, artists must spend a minimum of 15 hours a week in the studios or will be asked to leave the program.
Our application this year will be online. We will not have a paper or mail in application.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be a professional artist and not be enrolled in any degree programs. Artist's media may include painting, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, photography, and film and video. Applicants must be 18 years or older and demonstrate a need for a studio. International applicants are welcome.
Review Process:
A selection panel comprised of artists, curators, independent curators and representatives of the Board of Directors reviews the applications. Selections are based upon the artist's work, and potential and ability to make the most of his or her residency.

ANTI is an international contemporary arts festival presenting site-specific works made for public space. Over the past seven years ANTI has presented live, sonic, visual and text-based art from today’s most exciting and innovative artists. A truly international festival and Finland’s foremost presenter of Live Art, ANTI is a meeting place for artists and audiences fascinated by how art shapes and responds to the places and spaces of everyday life.
Walking Projects
For the 2009 edition of ANTI artists are invited to submit proposals for projects that use walking as a central activity or theme.
Projects might include, but not be limited to:

All proposals must be sent using the electronic form located on the festival’s web site. The form allows a link to be made to any online documentation artists may have of previous work and for artists to attach their CV and ONE image of their work. In addition ONE piece of supporting material (DVD or CD-ROM) can be submitted as hardcopy. The supporting material won’t be returned.
